Two people have been rescued from the wreckage of a coach which crashed off a viaduct on a busy road near Bath.
The coach plunged from a viaduct on the A36 that crosses a canal and fell around 10m.
A spokesman for Avon fire and rescue said: "Two people have been released from the single-deck coach by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment. Those people are now being treated by ambulance staff.
"There were seven other passengers on board the coach, who have also been receiving medical treatment."
Earlier the emergency services said that two people had been seriously injured.
The spokesman added: "A coach has left the road close to Limpley Stoke Bridge and fallen around 30 feet."
The weather was so poor that air ambulances were not able to fly. A fleet of six ambulances attended.
Police were appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at 11.30am on Wednesday at the junction of the A36 and Brassknocker Hill a few miles south of Bath.
