Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.
This week’s question
I’m worried that my 86-year-old father is no longer able to drive safely. There are a few scrapes on his car, and my last lift with him was rather scary. He can easily afford to pay for taxis, but giving up driving would be a big blow. How have other readers resolved this sensitively?
